Electronic Engineering Times ja Evertiq listaavat dataa ja ennusteita IC Insightsin elokuun 2006 raportista:

• Nine of the top 10 pure-play foundry companies reside in the Asia-Pacific region.
• Four of the top 10 foundries reside in China, with Chinese foundries comprising 12.4 percent of the market in 2005, up from 4 percent in 2002.
• Global pure-play IC foundry market is forecast to surge 22 percent in 2006, as compared to worldwide IC industry growth of 8%
• Chinese foundries will increase their 2006 market share only slightly to 12.6 percent, as the foundries have moved from the explosive startup growth phase to more moderate rates typical of established companies.
• The "Big 4" players are TSMC, UMC, Chartered, and SMIC.

IC Insights defines a pure-play foundry as a company that does not offer a significant amount of IC products of its own design, but instead focuses on producing ICs for other companies.
